Street closures set for fireworks display

Vancouver – Several roads in downtown Vancouver will be closed Wednesday to help move traffic more efficiently in and out of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in anticipation of the fireworks display later in the evening.

Parking will be restricted on-site, but downtown parking will be free all day. Parking will also be available at Providence Academy for $10.

Starting at 6 p.m., C-Tran will operate a free shuttle, one originating at Fisher’s Landing Transit Center and the other from the 99th Street Transit Center. Shuttles will depart every 15 minutes.

Fort Vancouver Way south of Mill Plain Boulevard and East Reserve Street south of Mill Plain Boulevard will be closed all day.

Starting at 10 a.m., the following roads will be closed: Evergreen Boulevard from West Reserve Street to U Street, Mill Plain Boulevard at Fort Vancouver Way, East Ninth Street at East Reserve Street, East Eighth Street at T Street, East Sixth Street at U Street and East Fifth Street at U Street.

Mill Plain Boulevard between Fort Vancouver Way and East Reserve Street will close at 6 p.m., as well as the Interstate 5 northbound Mill Plain exit and the I-5 southbound Mill Plain exit will be west only.

Grand Boulevard between Evergreen Boulevard and East Fifth Street will close at 8 p.m.

Grove Street/Columbia House Drive and Columbia House Drive/Columbia Way exits on Highway 14 will close at 9 p.m.
