CORVALLIS, Ore. — A phony door-to-door salesman who sexually abused three Oregon women has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.

The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports that 22-year-old LaDerrick McCray gained entry to homes by pretending to be a magazine salesman. The attacks came during a four-day span in August 2016.

McCray declined to make a statement at this week’s sentencing in Corvallis. He pleaded guilty in April to rape and three counts of sexual abuse.

A victim who spoke in court said: “The very place I should have felt safe I couldn’t. Home became a place of discomfort and fear.”

Benton County Judge David Connell said McCray has shown no sign of remorse, “except for the remorse of being caught.”
