MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — Authorities say they found two plastic bags of heroin and methamphetamine in a jail inmate’s abdomen.

Multiple news outlets report 32-year-old Rashel Sutliff has been charged with unlawful delivery of heroin, unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and three counts of supplying contraband.

The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation began after someone reported last month that at least one inmate was using heroin.

The sheriff’s office says Sutliff was suspected of supplying the drugs and that a body scanner at a nearby jail showed a foreign substance in her stomach.

The sheriff’s office says hospital staff removed the drugs.

It wasn’t immediately known if Sutliff had obtained an attorney. She was in jail initially for failing to appear in court.
