Letter: Herrera Beutler doesn’t earn votes

By Dylan Normington, Vancouver

Republican President Donald Trump’s policy of taking children — including nursing infants — from parents seeking safety and asylum in the USA happened for months and our congresswoman, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, said nothing. I called her office two months after the policy started and asked for her position on it. I was told that the congresswoman had not given any information on her opinion of the policy.

Thousands of children were taken from their parents and she did nothing to stop it. She won’t criticize Trump about it.

She does not deserve our votes.
