Letter: Support Long for Congress

By Jim Bittner, Felida

Ballots will be arriving soon for the August primary. I urge my neighbors to (a.) vote, and (b.) vote for Carolyn Long for Congress. I would much rather be represented by an articulate intellectual, a teaching professor with an exemplary grasp of the Constitution, politics, and local issues, than the incumbent.

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, has been virtually invisible, unwilling to speak out on the abuses occurring to migrant children at our border, the tariff war with China, or Russian involvement in our election processes and society. Her “town halls” and boilerplate replies? Sadly inadequate. Vote for Carolyn Long.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
