Tibbits five shots back at Oregon Stroke Play Championship

Vancouver’s Spencer Tibbits went from co-leader to having to fight his way back up after a 3-over-par 75 Saturday in the second round of the 66th Oregon Men’s Stroke Play Championship.

Tibbits, a Fort Vancouver High grad and Oregon State golfer, had just one birdie and five bogeys in his round at Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore.

He is tied for fifth at 1-under, five shots behind leader Hunder Wescott of Portland.

Jake O’Neal of Vancouver is tied for 13th at 2-over after a 77.

Braeden Campbell of Washougal made the cut at 9-over. He is in 41st place.

The tournament concludes Sunday.
