Letter: Oppose tolls on Oregon roads

By Carol Thomas, Washougal

A lot has been said about the toll discussion to Oregon on Interstate 5 and Interstate 205.

I worked for many years in Oregon and paid state income tax. I’ve been a Washington resident for over 25 years, now retired. I do all my shopping in Clark County and love it. The only reason I normally drive into Portland is because I am a volunteer chaplain at Inverness Jail. I also drive to the airport when relatives fly in.

Let’s not let the powers that be tell us what is right and what we have to do. Traffic is bad enough, on top of it, without paying any kind of toll fee.
