McKean Smith will be laying down the law at The Waterfront Vancouver.

The Portland-based law firm announced Tuesday that it has leased about 3,600 square feet out of the same seven-story office building that M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust will move into. Nine employees will work there initially, with more to come in 2019.

“Employees at McKean Smith will enjoy the variety of attractions and amenities the area has to offer, including nearby shops and restaurants,” the firm said in its announcement. The firm has clients in Clark County and said it expects the new office to help serve them.

Besides McKean Smith and M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, the only other tenant announced at the office building is Chicago Title & Fidelity National Title. The 70,000-square-foot structure is one of six under construction at The Waterfront Vancouver and is expected to open in the fall. A pier and two restaurant buildings nearby are expected to open in late summer.

Gramor Development, the Tualatin, Ore., business overseeing The Waterfront Vancouver’s Development, said it was excited to add yet another tenant to the 32-acre project, which broke ground two years ago.

“As development continues, it’s exciting to see more companies choose to make The Waterfront Vancouver their new place of business,” President Barry Cain said.
