There are several vacancies on Clark County’s 12-person Community Action Advisory Board that makes recommendations about government funding for basic needs, self-sufficiency and housing.

Open seats on the volunteer board include elected officials from the county’s 2nd and 3rd districts, community representatives from the 1st and 4th districts and low-income representatives from the 2nd and 3rd districts.

According to a news release, the county “is looking to diversify the board composition and encourages people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to apply, especially those from historically underserved communities.” Board members of agencies that get money administered by the board are not eligible.

The board meets 8 a.m. every other month at the Center for Community Health on Fourth Plain Boulevard. Terms are three years, and members can be reappointed for two additional terms. Find more information online at www.clark.wa.gov/community-services/community-action-advisory-board or call Rebecca Royce at 564-397-7863.

Those who are interested must send Royce their application and r?sum? by July 6 to rebecca.royce@clark.wa.gov or Clark County Community Services, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000.
