Letter: Replace Herrera Beutler

By Kim Dean Matthews, Kelso

The White House recently authorized the seizure of three years’ worth of a reporter’s telephone and email records without her knowledge or consent, in direct violation of Department of Justice policy and her civil rights.

Unless voters are comfortable with President Trump’s brand of creeping despotism, it’s vital that we replace members of Congress who are up for re-election, beginning with Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, who’s voted with the Trump agenda 90 percent of the time.

Replace Herrera Beutler in November. Elect a congressperson who puts the interests of the American people before their own party.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
