People in business

• Jordan Ramis PC has added a new face to its Vancouver branch. The Lake Oswego, Ore.-based law firm announced last week it has hired Joseph A. Rohner IV, a lawyer whose practice focuses on insurance coverage and business disputes. Rohner has argued cases in state and federal courts, as well as engaged in mediations and “alternative dispute resolution processes,” the firm wrote.

• The Association of Washington Cities has honored a Battle Ground councilor for his efforts to become a better elected official through its leadership program. Brian Munson has been awarded the association’s Certificate of Municipal leadership, it said, for demonstrating essential skills — such as responsible management of public funds and working with the community — and completing 30 hours of leadership training. Munson joined the city of Battle Ground’s Planning Commission in February 2014, before being appointed to Battle Ground City Council in July 2016. He was elected to a four-year term in November.

• Valerie Moreno has been selected as Clark College’s first chief information officer. Moreno has more than 30 years of experience working in information technology, most recently as director of information technology at Portland Community College. She has also worked for Northwestern University in Chicago, for AT&T, and QWEST Communications. Her first day at Clark was Jan. 16.

• Identity Clark County has added three business leaders to its board of directors:

Sharif Burdzik, vice president at Riverview Community Bank, who has also chaired Leadership Clark County, the Hazel Dell Salmon Creek Business Association and Cascadia Technology Foundation.

Greg Usselman, commercial banking team leader for Banner Bank in the Portland-Vancouver metro area. He is also involved with the Humane Society for Southwest Washington and SW Contractors Association.

Michael Lynch, a Vancouver native who is an active local philanthropist with a diverse background in consumer electronics, real estate development and business consulting.

• Heather Allen has been named president of the Charter College campus in Vancouver. She is a member of the general advisory committee for Cascadia Technical Academy, the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and Women in Science. She has been with Charter College since 2015, most recently serving as student success instructor.
