Letter: Thanks to Dick’s Sporting Goods

By Terrence Nelson, Ridgefield
Published: March 4, 2018, 6:00am

Celebrate common sense. Celebrate Dick’s Sporting Goods. The reasonable action to 1) Require all gun purchasers to be 21; 2) Cease the sale of military-style assault rifles; and 3) Cease the sale of high-capacity magazines is a model for legislators across the country.

With universal and strengthened background checks and getting back to research on gun safety, additional appropriate measures will be identified to move us toward a safer society.

Meantime, when my grandson and I go target shooting — the .22 ammo will have been purchased at Dick’s.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
