Letter: This is no way to make America great

By Ward Upson, VANCOUVER
Published: March 9, 2018, 6:00am

Our president vowed to make America great again. Apparently a way to achieve his goal is to deport people who are in America illegally, including the Dreamers, men and women brought here as little children. Some have lived here for decades, have families, have jobs and are contributing to the welfare of our nation.

Mr. President, a great nation should temper law with compassion. Give these Dreamers a path to citizenship in the only country they know.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
