Orchards — The Clark County Council honored Heritage High School student Heidi Hayden for designing the winning entry in a logo contest for the Clark County Parks Advisory Board. The council honored Hayden at its March 6 meeting, along with Eli Entwistle, who created the second-place logo, and Jennifer Jones and Viktoria Kryshtal, who jointly designed the third-place entry. Heritage High School digital arts teacher, Troy Wayrynen, who is also a former Columbian photographer, was also honored at the meeting for incorporating the contest into his graphic design class. Students from four high schools — Fort Vancouver, Heritage, Hudson’s Bay and Skyview — submitted nearly 50 entries for the contest.
