Didn’t we just give our mayor and the city council more pay, and for what? Now I read about a possible pay raise (“2-4% pay hike eyed for city leaders,” March 20, The Columbian).
Has their overall performance improved? I don’t think so. If these people we have elected were working for a corporation they would either achieve the goals set for them or they would be fired. Let’s see some performance reviews on these individuals before we just hand over our hard-earned tax dollars to what I see as a bunch of underachievers.
Before they were elected they stood for progress, so they said. Then they got our vote and now they sit on their laurels. Case in point — the Interstate 5 Bridge — more money spent on studies that were completed five or more years ago. Just how much more money has to be spent before something really happens? I am tired of my tax dollars being spent for nothing.
