March is Women’s History Month. To celebrate, I’ve created a special reading list highlighting the achievements and contributions of women in history and society. When putting this list together, I was gratified by the number of recently published titles calling attention to women’s accomplishments. There are, of course, a large number of titles focused on women’s issues, most notably gender inequality and sexual harassment. We have been very much in the news of late; and while the reasons for the intensified attention revolve around — quite frankly — extremely disturbing behavior by some members of the opposite sex, one positive outcome is a welcome publishing trend: showcasing the talents of women.
So, here’s to women everywhere: strong, beautiful — and changing the world. Brava!
