Two upcoming lectures at the Port of Vancouver will shine a spotlight on boats and brewing.

On April 3, executives from Shaver Transportation will detail how tugboats and barges have been used throughout the Columbia-Snake-Willamette River System for generations, helping commodities reach destinations as far east as Lewiston, Idaho.

Then, on April 10, Great Western Malting will share some of the innovations they have used in their industry to become the largest malting company in the western U.S., according to the port.

Both lectures are free and run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at WareHouse ’23, 100 Columbia St. Registration is required. To register, call 360-693-3611 or email RSVP@portvanusa.com.
