Washington State Patrol is asking for the public’s help in solving a late March hit-and-run on the northbound lanes of Interstate 205.
A 26-year-old man was walking south on the northbound lanes of the freeway on the evening of March 20 when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
Witnesses told troopers the man was walking on the freeway toward oncoming traffic with his arms raised. The incident appeared to have been a suicide attempt by the pedestrian.
Detectives have determined through evidence left at the scene that the man was hit by a maroon or dark purple 2003-2008 Honda Pilot SUV. The Honda sustained damage to its passenger side because of the crash, troopers said in a Friday press release. A picture of a similar vehicle was included with the release.
