Letter: Fill a bag, help stamp out hunger

What’s with all the yellow and blue bags?

That’s what everyone will be asking Saturday.

Here’s what you can tell them: “It’s our friends and neighbors helping to ‘Stamp Out Hunger.’ “

The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual food drive will collect nearly a half-million pounds of food for food banks in Western Washington. Yellow and blue bags are being distributed this week, and postal customers are asked to fill this bag with nonperishable food items. Letter carriers will pick up these bags at mailboxes all day Saturday.

Food Lifeline is proud to be a partner in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, providing the muscle, the storage, and our network of more than 300 food banks, shelters and meal programs to help distribute all of the donated food.

See you Saturday!
