Letter: Thanks to headline writers

By Jean Kent, Vancouver
Published: May 16, 2018, 6:00am

I appreciate many of the headlines in The Columbian. These headlines, in the past year or so, have given me much pleasure, often amusement, and always unconditional joy:

• Heritage, Skyview fit to be tied

• The FAANGs come out in new earnings reports

• Hope for a 180 on 360s (traffic circles)

• Oh N.O. — not again (loss to New Orleans)

• Rink on the skids (closure of ice rink)

• Large cap investment (mushroom industry)

• Take Christmas in stages (many entertainment offerings)

• Good night, night (light pollution)

• Sheep can recognize Baaaa-rack Obama

• How did River girls soccer beat Hockinson? Easley

• A Nested Interest (birdwatching)

• Oh deer! Rail overpass work delayed (herd of deer delay road work)

• Pipe Dream? (concrete sewer drain pipe made into housing)

• M’s leave Cleveland rockin’

• LeBroom: James, Cavs sweep up Raptors

The headline writers should be very pleased with themselves.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
