Three contenders for political office made their bids official on the second day of filing week, a period when candidates formally register their campaigns.

On Tuesday, Adam Shetler filed paperwork to officially challenge Laurie Lebowsky, who was appointed to fill a vacant Vancouver City Council position.

Jim Malinowski also filed papers to run for re-election for his Clark Public Utilities Board of Commissioners, District 1 seat. Judy Chipman, a retired Bonneville Power Administration employee, filed papers to contest the seat.

Filing week ends Friday. Candidates who file will appear on the August primary ballot.
