Letter: Nothing for infrastructure

By John Braithwaite, Brush Prairie

I want to know why there is not, during the permitting process, a requirement for rich land developers to provide for necessary infrastructure improvements.

The students, teachers and other workers at Laurin Middle School must suffer with gross overcrowding in an old, decrepit school. These developers who have built all of these mega apartment complexes do not contribute. It fell on the school district to ask for a couple of levy passages, which failed. They’re asking people, the majority of whom live paycheck to paycheck, to foot the bill. This is wrong on so many levels. Our children deserve better.

I’d be surprised if the county councilors would stand up and answer for this one.
