The Woodland Police Department responded to a rumored threat made at Woodland High School, according to a release sent out by the department Tuesday.

A student threatened to come back to Woodland High School next week and cause harm, according to the release. The police department is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

Woodland Public Schools officials were informed of rumors of a student threatening the high school, and let the Woodland Police Department know immediately. School district staff also began an internal investigation to determine if there was any validity to the rumors, according to a release from the district. So far, no rumors have been confirmed, the release stated.

“School staff including teachers, counselors and the administrative team are performing a comprehensive threat assessment in conjunction with our Threat Assessment Coordinator and local law enforcement,” the release said. “Should the school be made aware of a legitimate threat, we will immediately engage emergency lockdown procedures per district policy.”
