SEATTLE — A Washington state man has pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment after crashing his drone into the roof of Seattle’s Space Needle in 2016.

KOMO-TV reported Cole Kelly received a suspended jail sentence of 364 days after entering his guilty plea in Seattle Municipal Court on Tuesday.

Kelly, of Pasco, was also fined $5,000 with $4,750 suspended.

Authorities say Kelly crashed the drone on New Year’s Eve in 2016 as pyrotechnicians were preparing for the annual fireworks display.

Kelly also must forfeit his drone and agree to not operate drones as part of his sentence.

Authorities said no one was hurt in the drone crash and the Space Needle was not damaged.
