The Prairie volleyball team took second place in the Class 3A bi-district tournament Saturday in Olympia.
The Falcons reached the title match with a 3-2 win over Wilson of Tacoma. The Falcons had to fend off a big Rams rally before winning 25-18, 25-22, 19-25, 25-27, 15-13. Katie Vroman had 21 kills and 19 digs, Molly Packer had 38 digs and Lainne Wilkins had 48 assists.
In the championship match, Prairie lost to Capital of Olympia 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19. Vroman had 19 kills and 14 digs, Wilkins had 34 assists and Packer had 29 digs.
Mountain View won three consecutive loser-out matches to place fifth in the tournament and clinch a state berth.
The Thunder beat Spanaway Lake 3-1, Lakes 3-1 and Peninsula 3-0.
4A BI-DISTRICT: Camas lost both matches Saturday at the 4A bi-district tournament in Kent, while Skyview and Union fell short of advancing to state.
Camas, which had already clinched a state berth last week, lost to Olympia 20-25, 25-13, 25-21,16-25, 15-12 in a semifinal match, then fell to Puyallup 25-22, 25-22, 25-19 in the third-place match.
Skyview outlasted Union 23-25, 25-11, 25-12, 23-25, 15-7 in a loser-out match. But then Skyview fell twice — first to Auburn Riverside 25-20, 25-27, 25-15, 25-22 and then to Kennedy Catholic 25-22, 25-15, 27-25 to end the Storm’s season.

Hoquiam 49, Stevenson 0 — Antonio Garcia rushed for 126 yards and two touchdown to send Hoquiam to a first-round win over Stevenson in the 1A state playoffs.
