The postseason marches on for small-college volleyball and soccer teams fortunate enough to still be playing.

And Clark County athletes are playing a role in many of those postseason pursuits.

Volleyball

Madison Pfaff, a freshman from Camas, had nine digs in Corban’s 3-0 win over Xavier (La.) in the opening round of the NAIA playoffs on Saturday. The Warriors (33-2) clinched their third straight trip to the NAIA Finals site in Sioux City, Iowa. The first of three pool-play matches is Nov. 27.

Zoe McBride, a freshman from Prairie, had 20 kills as Morgan State nearly upset top-seeded South Florida A&M, losing in five sets in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference quarterfinals Friday. Earlier in the week, McBride was named to the MEAC All-Rookie team, the first Morgan State player to achieve that since 2006.

Ashley Watkins, a junior from Battle Ground, had 39 assists and 13 digs as Montana (10-20) ended its regular season with a four-set win over Idaho State on Saturday. The No. 7 seed Grizzlies open Big Sky tournament play against No. 2 Idaho on Thursday.

Men’s Soccer

Levan Zhividze, a freshman from Evergreen, had an assist in Corban University’s 3-2 win over Arizona Christian in the first round of the NAIA playoffs Saturday. The No. 15 Warriors (15-3-1) face No. 2 Oklahoma Wesleyan on Nov. 26 in Irvine, Calif.

Ahmon Afenegus, a senior from Mountain View, and Mitchell Pinney, a senior from Hockinson, each played significant minutes in Southern Oregon’s 1-0 win over UC Merced in the first round of the NAIA playoffs Saturday. The No. 13 Raiders next face No. 4 Rio Grande (Ohio) on Nov. 26 in Irvine, Calif.

Cross Country

Alexis Fuller, a senior from Union, placed 104th at the NCAA Championships on Saturday in Madison, Wis. She covered 6,000 meters in 21:06 as Boise State placed sixth.

Brooke Roy, a freshman from Camas, placed 49th overall at the NCAA Division-II West Regional on Saturday in Billings, Mont. Her time of 22:22 for 6,000 meters was the 23rd fastest in Cal-State Monterey Bay program history.

Men’s Basketball

Trevor Jasinsky, a junior from Camas, scored 21 points in each of Western Washington’s two games last weekend at the SFU Showdown in Burnaby, B.C. The Vikings beat Minnesota State-Moorhead 80-76 on Friday, then beat Humboldt State 81-76 on Saturday.

Denis Kirichenko, a sophomore from Union, scored 16 points in Corban’s 90-77 win over Lewis and Clark on Thursday.

Tyler Combs, a freshman from Union, made his first start for Pacific Lutheran, scoring 9 points in 34 minutes of a 82-74 loss to SUNY-Old Westbury on Friday.

Women’s Basketball

Jossilyn Blackman, a senior from Battle Ground, had a season-high 22 points on 9 for 11 shooting in Lewis-Clark State’s 95-84 win over Corban on Saturday.
