Letter: Composting pays dividends

By Olivia Aguilar, Vancouver

Vancouver should introduce a composting program. Portland has one in place that seems to be doing a lot of good. The city provides bins for food scraps, which are picked up weekly, and wasted foods are put to good use.

I understand that some people may complain about the smell. In my opinion, it would be minor and worth it. Implementing a composting program would drive people to make better choices in making not only our city, but also our planet, a better place to live.
