Angst Gallery seeks artists to submit works for its annual Celebration of the Male Form exhibit, Jan. 4 through 26, with a First Friday opening reception from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 4. The exhibit is an opportunity to for artists to depict the male body in various mediums as a counterbalance to the art world’s emphasis on the feminine form. Intake of artwork will happen from 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 22 and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 2. Columbia River Chorus, a women’s a capella chorus, invites women 16 and older for a season of four-part harmony, laughter and fun. Rehearsals are open to anyone interested in joining and the ability to read music is not required. Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks brass, woodwind and percussion players, active and retired. All abilities welcome; no audition required. The volunteer community band, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles, performs regularly around the area.
