Vancouver police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect who struck a pedestrian Friday night, leaving the man seriously injured.

Officers were dispatched at 8:07 p.m. to the 7700 block of Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard for a report of an injury crash.

Witnesses told police a “pedestrian was in the crosswalk, crossing southbound on Fourth Plain against the light,” according to a news release from the Vancouver Police Department. He was struck by an eastbound vehicle, police said, and suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The 2005 or 2006 white Nissan Altima did not stay to help the injured man. The police department also described the car as having black steel rims, a temporary Oregon license plate tag and damage to its front-end on the driver’s side, including the headlight and bumper.

The Nissan’s driver was described as a white woman in her 30s, with a thin build and blond hair.

The Vancouver Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or location of the vehicle is asked to call Officer Robert Block at 360-487-7396.
