Letter: Long will meet community’s needs

Again, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, is a day late but certainly not a dollar short.

I worked with thousands of citizens for four and half years to stop the Port of Vancouver’s dangerous Bakken oil project. There was no help from Herrera Beutler, who sat by, taking campaign funds from Big Oil and others who supported this bad idea. Now that she’s being challenged for her congressional seat, she’s concerned about our community safety. Don’t be fooled; she had years to make a difference regarding the safety of oil trains but did nothing. Vote for Carolyn Long, whom we can count on to meet our needs.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
