Trump starts leaving postal union in latest anti-China move

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is preparing to pull the United States out of an international postal treaty that allows China to ship packages to America at discounted rates. The move would escalate a trade dispute with China.

The decision to pull out of the Universal Post Union was described by two administration officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak on the record.
