Early-morning crash sends three to the hospital

Traffic has returned to normal; alcohol possible factor

Three people were taken to the hospital after a head-on traffic collision in the 1400 block of N.E. Fourth Plain Boulevard on Saturday morning.

According to a news release from the Vancouver Police Department, the collision occurred when an eastbound red Nissan pickup truck crossed over the median into the other lane and struck a black Toyota sedan.

The pickup truck was occupied by an adult male driver while the Toyota was occupied by an adult male driver and an adult female passenger, according to the news release.

Alcohol is a possible factor in the cause of the accident but has not been confirmed.

Multiple Vancouver police and Clark County Sheriff’s Office patrol units responded to the incident. Vancouver Police Department’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation. Traffic was diverted for several hours as a result of the crash.
