Letter: Democrats’ tactics disgusting

I’ve appreciated my Democratic Party’s record on people of all shapes and stripes getting a fair shake. And right there is the hypocritical straw that breaks the camel’s back: Brett Kavanaugh is a people too.

He might be guilty of those terrible things, and if the key accusation had been brought forward early, he could have been thoroughly and righteously investigated. We Democrats have lawyers and investigators who could have built a solid case, if there really was one, with or without the FBI. But, instead, an 11th-hour, unsubstantiated and highly emotional accusation is thrown at the man, simply to stir public sentiment and delay confirmation until a hoped-for Democratic majority.

Is a man’s reputation being publicly smeared, and his credibility devastated, what our party calls giving people a fair shake?

I’m ashamed of what the Democrats did to our country and a man’s reputation for political purposes and my support, for which they’ve asked, will not be coming. Democrats have made President Trump look like a saint, and that’s disgusting.
