Portland – NW Natural customers will pay about 7 percent less for their natural gas starting Thursday.

The typical residential customer who uses 57 therms per month will save about $3.81 per month, according to a news release from the company.

The decrease is due to the Purchased Gas Adjustment recently approved by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission.

Commercial customers will save about 7.7 percent, or pay $16 less for those using an average of 244 therms per month.

Actual savings may vary.

NW Natural serves about 2 million people in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
