One hurt when vehicle hits pedestrian in Vancouver

A man was seriously hurt early Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a car while walking near the intersection of Andresen Road and MacArthur Boulevard, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The incident was reported about 1:45 p.m., according to a police bulletin. It said the man, whose identity was not released, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and that there was no sign of impairment in the driver, who remained on scene.

The Vancouver Police Traffic Unit is investigating, and one northbound lane of North Andresen Road was closed between MacArthur Boulevard and Missouri Drive, the bulletin said.
