Columbia River scored 27 unanswered points to post a win in its 2A Greater St.Helens League opener.

Jarrett Seelbinder returned a punt 51 yards for a score in the third quarter, all but guaranteeing the victory.

Ridgefield was held to 101 total yards, including just 54 in the final three quarters.

Columbia River’s offensive attack was balanced as three rushers carried the ball at least eight times. Dawson Lieurance and Matthew Asplund split duties under center throughout the match and combined to complete 10 of 16 passes with 135 yards and a score.

Isaac Bibb-O’Neil rushed for 52 yards and scored on consecutive touches for the Chieftains.

Ridgefield’s Abrams had 18 carries for 52 yards in the first half, while the team had zero passes attempted. Abrams received just four carries in the second half, while quarterback Tanner Roberts attempted 15 passes.

Despite the defense for both teams limiting the other offensively, there were zero turnovers in the game.
