Non-league football: Mountain View 54, Battle Ground 7

The Thunder scored touchdowns on six of their first seven possessions en route to their nonleague victory Friday at McKenzie Stadium.

For the second straight week, Mountain View’s (2-1) offense scored 54 points. Six different players scored touchdowns, led by Philip Earnhardt’s three (one passing, two rushing). His 1-yard touchdown run with 7 minutes, 27 seconds left in the third quarter made Mountain View’s lead 44-0.

Quarterback Garrett Moen finished with 319 yards passing on 17 of 25 completions and a touchdown. His 32-yard touchdown pass to Earnhardt on the game’s first drive capped a 3-play, 53-yard scoring drive on its opening possession. Moen also had a 5-yard rushing touchdown.

The Thunder defense, highlighted Friday by two sacks, two tackles for loss and an interception from Andrew Reminger, has now given up 24 points in three games.

Daniel Thompson led Battle Ground (0-3) with 42 yards rushing. Trent Thompson (38 yards on 13 carries) scored the TIgers’ touchdown on a 12-yard run in the fourth quarter.
