Hockinson Middle School earns design award

Brush Prairie — Hockinson Middle School and the Dull Olson Weekes – IBI Group Architects earned an Outstanding Design award for the replacement middle school, which opened before the start of the 2017-2018 school year. The school will be included in the 2018 American School & University Architectural Portfolio, which is scheduled to be published in late November, and will be among projects included in an online database at www.schooldesigns.com. The school was funded thanks to a $39.9 million bond voters passed in February 2015. The school was designed for versatility and collaboration, with space that can change sizes to allow students to work in large or small groups.
