Letter: Be bold, vote Republican?

In my 47 voting years, I don’t think I’ve seen such a cynical political sign as the Clark County Republicans have posted: Be bold, vote Republican. Really? Let’s review a few of the bold acts of the current Republican administration.

Be bold, separate children from their parents and cage them. There are still over 400 children who have not been reunited, many who might never be.

Be bold, take millions of dollars from the Coast Guard and FEMA budgets at the beginning of hurricane season and move that money to build internment camps.

Be bold, deny a woman’s right to choose.

Be bold, spend federal education money on guns for teachers rather than education for students.

Be bold, destroy our environment by decreasing standards for air pollution.

Be bold, deny climate change and its impact as the severity of wildfires and hurricanes both increase.

Be bold, lie about who really benefits from ginormous tax breaks while the deficit soars.

Be bold, refuse to hold the commander in chief accountable because he may turn on you and make your re-election more difficult.

For me, the only rational response is: Be bold, vote your values.
