HAZEL DELL — Vancouver United Church of Christ, also known as First Congregational United Church of Christ, is hosting a public open house to celebrate moving into its remodeled building more than two after it was burned by arson.
The event is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hazel Dell church, 1220 N.E. 68th St. There will be a blessing by the Rev. Jennifer Brownell, children’s activities, food, music and tours of the building. Some church members, who joined after the fire, will be seeing the inside of the church for the first time.
Metropolitan Community Church of the Gentle Shepherd and Martha’s Pantry will return to occupying part of the building and will be part of Sunday’s celebration.
