Vancouver police searched for a shooting suspect Friday evening near the Brookside 112 Apartments in the Kevanna Park neighborhood.

No one was injured in the shooting, which occurred shortly after 6 p.m. outside the apartment complex at 4619 N.E. 112th Ave., according to scanner traffic monitored at The Columbian. Police were still actively searching for the suspect more than an hour after the shooting.

Initially, there was conflicting information about the weapon used. Police said they found a couple of shell casings at the scene, according to scanner traffic.

Police set up containment in the area, and a manhunt ensued.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a ponytail standing about 5 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. Witnesses said he was wearing a red baggy shirt and black baggy pants. He was seen running west along the north side of the complex, according to scanner traffic.
