The Clark Public Utilities Home & Garden Idea Fair returns for its 28th year to the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds from April 26 to 28, along with its full-size landscaping displays, huge plant sale and other attractions ahead of home improvement season.

Beyond the landscape display showcase from the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals, the 50-plus vendors and nursery plant sale, the event will also include a model accessory dwelling unit and other home technology displays.

New this year, the event is teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation to provide Clark Public Utilities customers free trees for energy-efficient shade, for pickup April 26 and 27. Reserve a tree online through www.arborday.org/clarkpud.

Visitors can also bring in screw-in compact fluorescent light bulbs, to be exchanged for free recycling and two free LED bulbs, per household.

Admission to the fair is free, but donations of non-perishable food items for food banks or cash for the utility’s home heating grant program are encouraged.

Parking for the event is $6, although C-Tran will provide a shuttle bus from the Fisher’s Landing and 99th Street transit stations to the event.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 26 and 27, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28. More information is available online at www.homeandgardenideafair.com.
