The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes and Sarah J. Anderson School PTA, both of Vancouver, were among the 22 nonprofit organizations and schools in Southwest Washington and Portland receiving Nike Community Impact Fund grants totaling $250,000.

Each grant was between $5,000 and $20,000 through The Oregon Community Foundation. Individual grant amounts were not revealed. Since 2010, the fund has awarded approximately 450 grants totaling $4.9 million to organizations in Portland and Southwest Washington that are making an impact in community centers, on local playing fields and at neighborhood schools.

The Sarah J. Anderson grant is expected to be used to promote physical health through a walking path; the blind athletes association grant is expected to pay for a residential sports camp for children.

Applications for the next round of Nike Community Impact Fund grants are being accepted through June 1 at communityimpact.nike.com.
