A motorcyclist was injured Thursday when he attempted an unsafe lane change on southbound Interstate 205, according to Washington State Patrol.

Quinn A. Stiller, 26, of Hillsboro, Ore., is suspected of driving under the influence, a WSP crash memo says.

Stiller was riding at 7:15 p.m. on a 1997 Harley Davidson FXD in a southbound lane of the freeway. The second vehicle involved in the crash, a black Saab 9-3 driven by a 53-year-old Seattle man, was in the same lane, troopers said.

Stiller tried to change lanes on the freeway near the onramp for state Highway 14 but had to swerve back into his original lane, which caused him to hit the passenger’s side bumper of the Saab, troopers said.

The crash report does not state why it is believed Stiller was under the influence. It says one person was injured in the crash, but notes only that the driver of the car was uninjured.

Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Kevin Stromberg told The Columbian on Thursday night that firefighters found a man down in the road. While the man was conscious and able to speak, he was taken to a hospital with injuries considered to be serious, Stromberg said.

Stiller’s motorcycle was reportedly totaled and towed away.

A spokesman for PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center said early Friday afternoon that Stiller was in satisfactory condition at the hospital.
