Letter: Clear the path for health care

I read the article “Some Republicans support plan to explore Universal Health Care.” I want to thank the leaders of this effort from our region for their efforts.

This would include state Sen. Annette Cleveland and Rep. Paul Harris. As Sen. Cleveland stated in the article: “As a society and as a country, we are going to have to once and for all bridge the philosophical question of is (health care) a right or a privilege?”

I would hope that bill SB 5822, already passed by the Senate, will be passed by the House Rules Committee and move forward to be passed by the House and signed by the governor.

We can no longer afford to see so many go without medical coverage in our state.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
