Get tips for country living and pick up a bushel of garden starts at Pomeroy Farm’s Country Life Fair and Herb and Plant Sale, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 27 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 28, 20902 N.E. See goats, chickens and piglets, try your hand at cornhole and rubber duck racing, visit with vendors (bring cash; there’s no ATM on site), watch homesteading demos of woodworking, fly-tying, spinning, jewelry-making, bow-making, blacksmithing and beekeeping, or go on a hayride. 2. Play date
The Vancouver Toy Junkies are back with a vintage toy and collectible show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 at WareHouse ’23 Event Center, 100 Columbia St., No. 102, Vancouver. Admission is $3 — or pay $10 and come early, at 9 a.m., to snap up the most interesting, rare and valuable toys. The show features over 140 tables of vintage toys and pop culture paraphernalia, including dolls, games, trains, records and more. Clark Public Utilities Home & Garden Idea Fair, April 26 to 28 at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield, is a treasure trove of bright ideas for your indoor and outdoor spaces, featuring hundreds of local businesses offering products and services in the heated Exhibition Hall, including landscape displays, farmers market vendors, family activities and one of Clark County’s largest plant sales. 4. Power to the people
From 5 to 8 p.m. April 26, Clark College invites the community to an evening of free, family-friendly fun celebrating Latino culture and literacy in the Gaiser Student Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. “Celebracion de Mi Gente” (Celebration of My People) is held in honor of the Mexican holiday, Dia del Nino (Day of the Child) — marked as Dia del Libro (Book Day) by the American Library Association.
