Art

Second Story Gallery seeks artists to exhibit works in 2020. The deadline for applying is 5 p.m. Sept. 13. The application form can be found at secondstorygallery.net, under “How to Exhibit.” Forms are also available at the Camas Public Library’s service desk at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. Artists should submit five digital photos of works of art for jurying. Applications and samples can also be submitted to the library’s service desk. Applicants can expect to be notified later in the fall or as late as December. The selected art will be exhibited for one to two months.

Music

Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks brass, woodwind and percussion players, active and retired. All abilities welcome; no audition required. The volunteer community band, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles, performs regularly around the area. Vancouver Pops Orchestra seeks musicians who play orchestral instruments. The ensemble plays 20 to 25 45-minute assemblies each year in local grade schools. Rehearsals are 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays. Theater and performance

Love Street Playhouse seeks actors to audition for “And Then There Were None,” based on Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery novel. Auditions will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 5 at 126 Loves Ave., Woodland. No appointments are necessary. Arrive early to fill out paperwork. Auditions will be cold readings from the script; no monologues required. Bring headshots, personal calendars and theater resumes. Performances are Oct. 11 through 27, 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sundays. Poetry

Niche Wine Bar and Printed Matter Vancouver seek short poems on the theme of “community” to commemorate the ninth anniversary of Niche Wine Bar. The winning poem will be printed on wine glasses to be distributed to all those who attend the Niche Anniversary Party at the Kiggins Theatre on Oct. 14. The second place winner will have their poem printed on t-shirts. The third place winner will have their poem printed on beverage napkins. Winners will gain entrance to the Ninth Anniversary Party on Oct. 14 and their poems will be displayed on the screen in the Kiggins Theatre. The deadline for submission is Aug. 15.
