Letter: Trump not good for America

By Jerry Anderson, Vancouver
Published: August 13, 2019, 6:00am

In response to Robert Kerr (“Stand up for America,” Our Readers’ Views, Aug. 1): Once again, I quote Albert Einstein, “Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.” I find it astounding that 63 million of these humans put a pathological liar (10,000 documented and counting), racist (dissed a Gold Star family that is Arab, bad-mouthed a judge with Mexican heritage, told four elected woman of color to go back to their countries, tried to block all Arabs from entering the U.S.), sexist (take too long to list the women that have accused him, says it’s OK to grab a woman by the genitals), Russian asset (Putin told me he didn’t interfere, so it must be true), Vietnam-era draft dodger in the Oval Office.

Kerr’s letter says Trump walks the talk; let’s see. Mexico will pay for the wall: how is that going? Trump conned farmers and auto workers for their votes, a lot of whom now face bankruptcy and unemployment. He promised a tax cut to the middle class, which we all know only benefited the 1 percent. “Drain the swamp?” Wow, I didn’t know it could get any bigger. I also say stand up for America, but not Trump’s, or evidently Mr. Kerr’s.

Once again, Trump’s campaign slogan is “Make white America great again.”
