Second Story Gallery seek artists to exhibit works in 2020. The deadline for applying is 5 p.m. Sept. 13. The application form can be found at secondstorygallery.net, under “How to Exhibit.” Forms are also available at the Camas Public Library’s service desk at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. Artists should submit five digital photos of works of art for jurying. Applications and samples can also be submitted to the library’s service desk. Applicants can expect to be notified later in the fall or as late as December. The selected art will be exhibited for one to two months.

Music

Bravo! Northwest Concerts seeks excellent vocalists for the Bravo! Chorale, a semi-professional ensemble of 24-32 singers. Paid positions for section singers and soloists/sections singers are available. Applicants must be able to sing all styles of music, sight read and learn parts independently. The repertoire for 2019-2020 includes baroque, cross-over jazz and classical, and the U.S. choral premiere of music for the silent film “Phantom of the Opera.” Auditions are by appointment from Aug. 19 through Sept. 6. Vancouver Master Chorale will hold auditions by appointment from Aug. 20 to Sept. 20 for its 2019-2020 concert season of five concerts. This is a large community choir that performs a spectrum of diverse music, from classical masterworks to contemporary arrangements of popular songs, as well as opera and Broadway. Auditioners will sing a song and then perform scales to determine range and pitch. Reading music is required. Email the conductor, Jana Hart, at janahart2007@gmail.com to schedule a time.

Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks brass, woodwind and percussion players, active and retired. All abilities welcome; no audition required. The volunteer community band, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles, performs regularly around the area.
