An unconscious driver was taken to the hospital following an early morning head-on crash in Battle Ground.

Police, firefighters and medics were dispatched at 6:21 a.m. to the intersection of Southeast Eaton Boulevard and Grace Avenue for a report of a crash with injuries.

Initial details indicated that injuries had resulted from a head-on wreck, according to Battle Ground police spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti.

Responders found one driver unconscious at the scene. The unidentified driver was taken to a hospital for treatment, Gilberti said. Two vehicles were towed from the scene, she said.

A power pole apparently was also struck, prompting an exposed wires report. Gilberti said Clark Public Utilities was advised about the damage.

More details about what happened, the names of the people involved and any potential citations were not immediately available.
